Going, Going. Not yet gone...

I have sold the three drawer chest, the pencil case, and the Primatek paints thus far. That leaves a few more things that I would like to pack and send on to a new owner. If there is anything I have put here for sale, and you would like to have it, make me an reasonable offer. I'd be happy to consider it. These are things that I really don't have room for, but I don't want to trash them - they are nice things.

I used to tear up the magazines and save the articles that I thought would be useful to keep for inspiration. I enjoy rereading the articles and they tend to keep my "creativity tank" full. My file cabinet is stuffed. Magazine subscriptions and books have become so costly, and the majority of us are struggling with tight finances. I was surprised how expensive older magazines are at Interweave. Now that digital magazines are available, I imagine that many people will be using them. I confess, I really, really like getting a magazine in the mailbox, and I don't feel the same satisfaction from a digital one. Perhaps I will get the hang of it someday, but for now, I'll keep getting mine in hard copies.

Whatever I don't pass on from the blog will go to Ebay sales in a week or so. Send me your request or comment, and thanks again for looking.

A Happy Afternoon

Having an "artist connection" is such a blessing! I was truly surprised when I did a quick check of my email while I was at work and found that three of the items that I posted had buyers! As the afternoon went on, I armed myself with a variety of boxes in anticipation of packing the treasures up on Thursday and Friday. A big thanks to those who have helped me to free up some space in the studio.
I have been selling my various "libraries" on EBay, and half.com, for over 5 years, and each deposit to my checking account has been a blessing - no matter the amount. Living by myself, in an apartment, has changed my financial "situation" drastically, so the income from selling some of my art supplies is a big help. However, the joy I get from packing, and sending, these things far outweighs their monetary value.
Many of you, perhaps most of you, have collected your art supplies carefully, choosing those things that you think will be the best for you to have at a particular time. We like to explore - brushes, pigments, mediums, papers, sketch and paint books, journals and planners - and we imagine what we might do with them, what special project we will use them for. Each item in our collection, each new acquisition, has an idea, hope, or dream that gets put on the shelf, or in the drawer, along with it.
With the change in my living space, I am having to change my ideas and dreams. When I pack up my things to send to you, I am sending along with them the care that I took in making those choices. As my collection gets smaller, I hope that your creative endeavors will grow larger. As I put the postage on the boxes, I am sending you encouragement to work toward the realization of your artistic dreams. Maybe, just maybe, some of ideas and dreams that I put on the shelf with my treasures might be passed on to you, and bring you joy.

SCALING DOWN

Since I moved into an apartment, I have had to face the reality of too much stuff, and not enough space. So... I have to part with those things that might be "extras," or "doubles" of my art supplies, accessories, and storage essentials.
I have a number of items that Kate Johnson calls "discardables." I think of them as "pass-on-ables," and I am going to offer them for sale here. I am posting the basic info on the items, but I can answer any questions you have if you drop me an email at mysticrev1@aol.com

Most of these items can be found in one or more of the many online catalogs. I referred to a number of the catalogs in order to set fair prices. I hope that you will find the prices appropriate to the item. I prefer to use PayPal for payment, but will accept a Postal Money Orders. I will use the least costly method of mailing, and I use recycled packaging materials whenever I can. I will to expensive method of mailing, and the safest, to get them to you. I work in a small post office, so I have access to all the pricing options. If you would prefer a different mailing option than the ones I have listed with the items, let me know and I will price it for you. Here is what I have to pass on to you:

The palette has been used, but is in good condition.

DRAW - HOW TO MASTER THE ART $12.00
Softcover, 250 pages of examples, illustrations, techniques, how-to's, step-by-steps, in black and white, sepia, and color. Foreword is by David Hockney. This book is in "Good to Very Good" condition. It the binding is tight and there are no marks or damage to the pages. There is some shelf wear on cover and page corners. It is a "used" book and I have added a little to the price because of the weight of the book. It is as heavy as the combined weight of the two softcover books listed above.
